VIF Monetisation €600m
Marc led the team structuring the largest VIF Monetisation in Spain between VidaCaixa and Berkshire Hathaway. VidaCaixa increased their capital by €600m through an upfront commission from Berkshire Hathaway on a book of life protection business.
Berkshire Hathaway also reinsured a large block of annuities of VidaCaixa against longevity risk.
Talanx buying Warta ~€860m
Leading the Aon team advising Talanx and Meiji Yasuda on the acquisition of the second largest Polish insurance company (2012).
Warta sold life and non-life insurance policies and the Aon team valued all businesses and advised Talanx and Meiji Yasuda on all steps of the transaction including contract negotiations with KBC as the owner of Warta.
Life Derisking ~ $1bn
Marc advised Baloise Belgium on their $1bn life reinsurance transaction with RGA (February 2024).
Baloise Belgium reinsured all risks (including market risk) of a large block of traditional individual life insurance policies with an average guaranteed rate over 3%. We advised on every step of the transaction.
